Balmain

Lo sé, hace tiempo que no escribo en Cattleya y no tiene perdón (sobre todo teniendo en cuanta los múltiples acontecimientos importantes que han ocurrido en el mundo de la moda y que yo no he redactado: el debut de Manolo Blahnik en la London Fashion Week, las colecciones de Valentino, Chanel, Cavalli...). Pero, en cuanto me he puesto ha reflexionar sobre esto, me he dicho: "Abre blogger y escribe una entrada sobre Balmain". ¿Por qué? Pues, simplemente, porque su colección Pimavera/Verano- sí, la que ha presentado en París hace poco- me ha emocionado y cautivado a más no poder.

It's been so long since I've written anything of substance here, and I know there's no excuse I might say to "clean" my name. I've noticed that a lot of important things have happened in the Fashion World latly, and I haven't talked about any of them: Manolo Blahnik made his London Fashion Week debut, we've been able to see Valentino, Chanel or Cavalli's collections. So, I "spoke" to myself today and I told me: "HEY, YOU HAVE TO WRITE SOMETHING! WHY DON'T YOU WRITE ABOUT BALMAIN?" Why about Balmain? Well, I saw Balmain Spring/ Summer 2013 womenswear fashion show and I just loved it.

La casa francesa, Balmain, nos presenta, con su nueva colección, la posibilidad de poder viajar a las años ochenta. Con tonos negros y blancos, acompañados en algunas prendas del amarillo y el azul celeste (y ciertas pinceladas de ocre e índigo), Balmain apuesta por conjuntos "ceñidos", dándole protagonismo y volumen a las hombreras. Abundan también los tops y los conjuntos "dos en uno", es decir, piezas separadas que, en teoría, suelen estar juntas. Asimismo, podemos encontrar un mix perfecto y eterno entre las chaquetas (de mangas tres cuartos y amplios escotes), con pantalones anchos y dinámicos. Pero, ¿qué es lo que realmente podemos destacar? A parte de los bellos detalles en ocre, yo diría que los vestidos cortos, los cinturones, los delicados stiletoos y los estampados de la temporada (sí, los de figuras geométricas), junto a esos cortes que pemiten enseñar "carne", pero sin rozar la obscenidad (Es Balmain, ¿qué pensabais?).

The French House, Balmain, gives us, with its new collection, the possibility to travel to the eighties. With black and white tones, and yellow and light blue in some pieces (and some touches of ocher and indigo), Balmain bet for"tight" pieces, giving prominence and volume to the shoulder pads. Also, we can find "two in one"- garments, I mean, individual pieces that, in theory, often go together. We can also find a perfect mix between jackets (three -quarter-sleeves and wide necklines) and baggy pants. But what're the best things in the collection? Apart from the beautiful details in ocher, I'd say the short dresses, belts, delicate stilettoos and the print of the season (yes, geometric figures print), along with those cuts that allow the imagination to soar, but without obscenity (It's Balmain, what did you expect?).
